In the beginning was the WORD.

That is one of the most inspirational sentences to me. Since the age of 5, I felt inspired when I read poetry. The rhyming words would speak directly to me. During elementary school I remember library time especially. I would grab a story book from the shelf, and an extra book of poetry to fit inside the story book, and making sure that the teacher did not see my secret, I sat and enjoyed the poems.  I especially appreciate words of truth, whether bleak, passionate, joyous or solemn.  Whether positive or negative, words move us, words are necessary in life, and a great joy when used by a child with autism to call her mother's name.

I share this poetry within me, inspired by the truths of my life and the life around me, in hopes that it will inspire you to use words of encouragement, truth and love.  Check back with us for more inspirational poetry,

enjoy...

                   This Month's Poem..

Left Up To Me

When grief colored thoughts

Weave their way to my mind

Is despair what I see

When it’s left up to me

When storm clouds of pain

Shadow all

That I seek

Will I cuddle with misery

When it’s left up to me

I can’t choose

What life brings

I can’t forecast

Life’s fate

If it builds or destroys

Is the choice that I make,

I won’t chain

To the pain

Possibilities of what can be

I will rise up in hope

Truth will set my life’s course

Having faith to believe

It is Left Up To Me.

Inspired by the right and responsibility of Choice
